Members of area 9 were out in force to make their presence known at the 1999 meeting of the Society for Neuroscience. In addition to stellar talks by Mark D'Esposito, Brad Postle, and Bart Rypma, there were many opportunities to meet up with old friends and to make new ones. Falling in the latter category is Clayton Curtis, who will be joining the area 9 group in June. The event was capped by a gala reception at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel at the Suite of Brad Postle and Charan Ranganath.
