2/3/1999     D'Esposito named section editor, Journal of Cognititive Neuroscience

The Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience has recently announced a new section of the journal, dedicated to the rapid publication of the most timely results in human neuroimaging research. In an editorial in the journal, Editor-in-Chief Michael S. Gazzaniga noted that "The maturing field of cognitive neuroscience is experiencing an explosion of research productivity. The development of exciting new tools, such as functional MRI and other neuroimaging methods, have contributed directly to this explosion by allowing investigators to address a wide range of questions about the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive processes in ways that were not previously possible... Concomitant with the furious pace with which cognitive neuroscientists around the world are producing data, our field is experiencing the need for peer-reviewed journals that can publish important findings in a timely manner... We are fortunate to have Dr. Mark D'Esposito charged with the responsibility of launching this new initiative and with assuming the role of editor of these submitted manuscripts."

Manuscripts intended for this neuroimaging section of the
